THE AXP® NEEDS YOU!

When a Board has the challenges that we have had, together with the aggressive schedule of activities that we have developed to encourage renewed energy and interest in the AXP, it requires people to help – both Board members and general volunteers.

Our AXP membership is getting older as there has been no influx of ex-pupils since 1995. Though we have expanded membership eligibility to non-ex-pupils, there is still an inadequate number of our eligible folks who have been willing to step into leadership or voluntary positions.

Our Organization can not survive without your willingness to give a few hours to keep it alive! Your existing Board has arguably accomplished an unbelievable number of tasks this past year, but it has come at a high human price to their families, friends, and themselves. Despite this I have heard very few complaints from them. However, as their leader I’ll tell you without exaggeration that they-we cannot sustain this level of work without help.

The AXP is more than a social organization. It is an organization whose mission is, among other things, to preserve the legacy of the Home. This requires dedicated folks who are willing and able to give 8 to 16 hours a month to the cause. For those of you who are not in the Xenia area, you can still participate. I live in Florida. The Furhman’s, our “ Thank you” letter team, live in Indiana. Our Membership Chairperson lives three hours away from Xenia. With the advent of Skype, Zoom, etc, we can conduct business effectively, when needed, from a distance.

Without people who are willing to put their ‘skin in the game’ to help keep our Home’s memory / legacy alive, it will fade away sooner than later.

THE AXP NEEDS YOU!

Well, that’s all for now. Keep an eye out for more information. We will be updating things every month or as often as necessary.

Be safe, healthy, and care for each other,

Your Board
